Liberal Studies Bridge Program
The Liberal Studies Bridge Program is a federally funded TRiO program designed to provide access to post-secondary education to students who may not otherwise meet all the entrance criteria of the institution and to provide those students with the support they may need. Your file may be referred to Bridge if, in reviewing your application, the Admission committee feels that you would benefit from additional support services. In some cases your transcript may indicate an area of weakness, or perhaps you did not follow a traditional college prep course of study in high school. Once the referral is made and eligibility established, you will be invited to campus to interview with program staff and faculty. Part of that process will include testing to determine your academic strengths and needs. The tests may indicate that you need to complete a developmental course before moving on to the related University course. Students in the Bridge Program carry up to twelve credits of University coursework in addition to their developmental work. Generally students transfer into their chosen major after two completed semesters. |
